The typical Rover process can take over 2 hours to find a PAID dog sitter( back-and-forth messages, scheduling, and meet-and-greets). At our event, you can meet 5 people interested in looking after your dog FOR FREE, all at once. Save time and money—find the perfect sitter effortlessly!

What to expect during the event

First hour (with host): Think speed dating – but for dog sitting swap! Here’s how it works:

• Personal Instructions: Just show up and follow our simple steps. We'll guide you through everything.
• Meet Your Matches: We’ll connect you with 5-7 local dog parents who have different travel dates from yours.
• Guided Conversations: Each round, enjoy fun prompts to spark lively chats.

Pro Tip: You’ll have multiple, short(ish) conversations, so skip the formalities! Focus on engaging, in-depth discussions with the prompts we provide. We’ll summarize everyone’s travel dates and contact info after the event. Enjoy each conversation to the fullest – no matter the outcome!

Second Hour (no host): Use this time to mingle and connect with any dog parents you haven’t met yet. It's your chance to continue those intriguing conversations or start new ones!

After the event:

Option 1: Want to stay connected and make new friends? You can opt in to our four-week event series ($30 for non-members and free for members), where we match, organize, and plan dog-friendly events for the next four weeks. All you need to do is show up and connect with your new friends.

Option 2: Only Interested in dog-sitting swaps? Become an annual Pawrents member to have access to the broader community and all future dog-sitting swap events.

Who Should Join:

Busy Working Professionals: As part of our application process, we will request your LinkedIn profile for verification. This ensures a network of trusted, like-minded professionals.

Local Dog Parents: This event is for local dog owners planning to travel within the next 6 months.

Non-Professional Sitters: No monetary exchanges are involved. This is an event for dog parents, not for professional dog sitters.

Location: We will host this event in a public dog park. Detailed instructions will be sent to all approved participants prior to the event.

Q: How much does it cost to attend?

A: The ticket price is $25, which covers the fee of the event host, marketing, service fees, vetting before the event, and all the specially designed connection activities.

Q: What if I couldn't find a match?

A: We match you with at least 5 other dog parents, so the odds of finding a dog-sitting swap are pretty good! While every match is unique and we can't promise results, we believe in the power of face-to-face connections. We hope you have a great time meeting other dog parents.

Q: What if I don't like meeting in person?

We totally understand! We believe face-to-face interactions are the best and most efficient way because:

Vibe Check: You want to meet the person who will take care of your dog to build trust.

Dog Check: It's important to see if your dog gets along with their dog.

Plus, all the conversations are guided. We have designed prompts to help you navigate through your discussions smoothly.

Q: What if I am unhappy with the event?

A: If you attended the event and are unhappy with the outcome, simply complete the survey, and we will issue a refund!

Q: What if my dog has behavioral issues?

A: Unfortunately, this event is designed for friendly dogs and is hosted at a public dog park. We may host some events for reactive dogs in the future.

Q: What's the cancellation/no-show policy?

Due to the nature of our events, every turnout is critical to the success and experience of all participants. We do not provide refunds, and cancellations are non-refundable.
